For the past several years, I’ve designed infographics for numerous books by leading Green Building author Jerry Yudelson. So it was no surprise to find an interview with Jerry Yudelson in the September issue of Wired titled “Godfather of Green.” Jerry offers up his thoughts on the future of green building and the technology that can make it a success. While not surprising, it’s always exciting to find clients getting national press for all the hard work they’ve put into their business. Congrats Jerry! Check out the article here.
Letterpress Love
Recent Work | April 14th, 2011
Let’s face it, when you’re designing for other people the last client on the list to design for is yourself–hence the two or more years it has taken me to finish the monumental task of designing a business card for my studio.
I’ve always had a fetish for anything letter-pressed, whether it’s a wedding invitation or a beer coaster, but one thing I knew from the start is that I wanted my card to be special and memorable.
Trying to keep the printing costs down, I decided on a one-color card; however the less frugal side of me wanted to fully utilize the powers of the letterpress and use “blind letterpress,” which creates an impression without any ink. To create a deep impression on both sides, Alex at Dolce Press suggested I use two 110# cardstocks and paste them together so that the deep impression wouldn’t show through to the other side. This makes for one hefty biz card.
My finished cards arrived this weekend and it’s love at first site! Having never used Dolce Press I really wasn’t sure what to expect, but they definitely exceeded my expectations. I can’t stop fondling my cards. Oh… sorry maybe that’s another site.
My cat, Sookie, made it into the shot as well. We both were searching for the perfect spot of sunshine.

Kelly Jones, proprietor of Salud Scent Studio, gave me the task of researching various wines, wine labels and perfume packaging for the upcoming redesign and rebrand of her fragrances inspired by wine. So you want me to drink lots of wine and peruse the perfume counter for gorgeous bottles and packaging? Sounds like hardwork, huh?! Here’s a glimpse at the new logo.

The 2010 Holidays are near….

Once again, its that time of year. Time for the joy and stress of gift-giving for the Holidays. To lessen that stress, La Encantada has offered up suggestions to make giving (and receiving) more enjoyable. Of course not everyone has the monetary means to afford Tiffanys but there are other options like the Humane Society’s outpost called Pawsh. Check out this recent advertorial that I designed for La Encantada. I had the pleasure of working with the ever stylish Melanie Sutton and the fabulous photographer Jackie Alpers. Also the male model is a one of the coaches for the Chicago White Sox. He kinda reminds me of Roger Sterling from my favorite show Mad Men.
